Organs & Bloggers
Looks like WHYS is talking about whether organ donation should be presumed or if it should be a “consent only” situation. I remember another show on the same subject from last year and my feelings are the same now as they were then. I think everyone should have the choice to donate their organs, but if they choose not to do so, it is a very selfish decision.
Most people that refuse to have their organs harvested are doing so based on superstitious religious practices. You would be hard pressed to find an atheist that would be selfish enough to let their body go to waste after death. Hell, I’d rather be compost than be an embalmed space-hog.
The second topic is about whether or not political bloggers make a difference. I believe they do. World Have Your Say is proof of that fact. I have learned so many interesting and important things about global politics and civilizations from the bloggers that take part in WHYS. I think bloggers make the big picture a lot more high definition than traditional media sources have ever been capable of achieving.
That’s about it for now…
Gotta’ Run!

3 Phrases That Make Me Mental
I heard one of them today from a WHYS guest… His name escapes me…
“There is no Silver Bullet for this situation…”
Oh, wait… Was this show about Werewolves or the Lone Ranger? Not it wasn’t! It’s “Magic Bullet”. Huge pet peeve of mine. I like the phrase “Magic Bullet” but I loathe the “Silver Bullet” fowl-up.
On to the other two phrases I hate…
“Conditions on the ground.” Sweet fancy Moses, will everyone please stop this!!! I hate it! I hear it constantly!!! It’s EVERYWHERE!!!
The WORST PHRASE EVER:
“At the end of the day.” People must think that makes them sound really smart. Well not in book. At the end of the day, that phrase makes me want to vomit in my hands. It’s so tacky and pretentious. There are so many thing that could be said instead of that piece of garbage power-phrase. Why don’t we bring back “Think outside the box” or “All on the same page”. It’s all just inhuman, creepy corporate speak.
In closing…
At the end of the day, there is no silver bullet that can change conditions on the ground.
*BARF*,

Unclear on Nuclear Power
Today I got the BBC World Have Your Say Daily e-mail from Peter Dobbie asking if Nuclear Power is the only option for clean & renewable energy. Honsetly, I don’t have much to say on the matter. I would really like to see a safe alternative to oil and coal, but 3 Mile Island and Cherynobl stick out like turds in a punch bowl.
I’d like to think that we’ve gotten to the point that we could harness the power of the atom or radioactive materials, but I doubt the world can truly handle a conversion to nuclear power on a grand scale.
Not really my area of expertise. I did write a song about a nuclear apocolypse called “Atomic Fire”. Here are the lyrics.
ATOMIC FIRE (K. Pickles)
It’s Atomic Fire – Atomic F*cking Fire 2x
Out in the Madness – The Madness We call the Future
We’re Living on Borrowed Time – You Borrowed Some and I Borrowed Mine
This is a Wasteland – It Is a No-Man’s-Land
And You Oughta’ Know, It’s Gonna’ – Gonna’ – Gonna’ Explode!
It’s Atomic Fire – Atomic F*cking Fire 2x
Out on Our Own, We’re Thrown No More Bones
Lookin’ For Sanctuary – Lookin’ for the Sun
We’re in a Sinkhole – It’s Turning Into a Black Hole
And You Oughta’ Know, It’s Gonna’ – Gonna’ – Gonna’ Explode!
It’s Atomic Fire -Atomic F*ucking Fire 2x
Atomic F*cking Fire, Atomic F*cking Fire, Atomic F*cking Fire – GO!
COPYRIGHT 2008 HARIWOLF Music, LLC
You may suspect the song is incredibly tongue-in-cheek but it’s gigantic rock. The keyboard part really sounds like it’s building up the guitar to explode into a descending run.
Anyway, this is quite a self absorbed tangent, but what better way to start posting the new lyrics. Actually, I may try and see if I can dig through my archived lyrics and post them as they relate to current events. What a nutty challenge!
Rambling on,
Ken

Mediocrity Out of the Ashes!
So I tried to get back on the internet with my “Political Pickle” Blog last year, but I just couldn’t bring myself to follow through with a single topic. 2008 is turning out to be a big year and I want to branch out with my writing.
I used to have a parody wesite called mediocrityoflife.com but I lost the domain and some bastard company swooped in and is squatting it’s unoriginal ass on it. This blog will be different than my old site, but I just love the name. This isn’t the first time I recycled the name either. “mediocrityoflife” is the name of a song I did with my old band, The Dad of Rock a couple years ago.
Speaking of bands… I’m just getting my new band off the ground. We’re called HAIRWOLF. I’ll make a myspace page for the band when the demos are done, but until then I’ll report our goings on right here.
So far we have about 10 songs. Some of the titles…
“Atomic Fire”, “Ghost Gun”, “Multi-Colored Lights”, “Lord of the Bored”, “Do As I Say (Not As I Do)” & “I Remember Crazy Nights (Last Summer)”.
As you may gather, the songs are all very toungue in cheek but rock like radioctive lightning. This is truly the best band I’ve been a part of.
The line-up consists of me on Vocals & Guitar, long time friend and collaborator, Greg on Drums, Derek on Bass and the Enigmatic “R” on Keyboards. Everyone will contribute vocally in one way or the other, but I’m the primary singer.
I’ll expound more on HAIRWOLF in the coming days, but I should get to some other things I’d like to write about. I’d like to review a few CD’s, concerts, movies and books as the year progresses as well as addressing some political whatnot.
I may even dig up the stuff I wrote from the old mediocrity site and post it for your enjoyment or displeasure.
Rock!
Ken
